Most of us know Seattle's iconic Pike Place Market for their fish, flowers, incredible views, and so many other hidden gems!
But beyond the storefronts, you'll find a community of artists, farmers, merchants, and seniors who call the market home. And the Pike Place Market Foundation helps sustain all of that.
This year marks one of the Foundation's largest annual investments in its history: More than $1.5 million granted back into the Market community.
Jennifer Tisdel Schorsch, the Pike Place Market Foundation's new executive director, and Velma Chaney, Market Commons Resource Manager, joined ARC Seattle co-anchors Steve McCarron and Holly Menino to talk about the investments' impact - from strengthening food security, to supporting small businesses and farmers, and expanding healthcare access.
