A federal judge blocked an Ohio law requiring voters to prove U.S. citizenship, setting up an immediate appeal from the state.

The fight comes as citizenship and voter ID measures appear on ballots in several states this November, while President Trump is pressing Congress to pass the SAVE America Act, which would impose new federal voter ID rules and proof-of-citizenship requirements nationwide.
