The National Hurricane Center is monitoring 2 tropical storms in the Atlantic. Gonzalo popped up recently, there's also Tropical Storm Fay.
Gonzalo was born out of a strong tropical wave that emerged off the African Coast. Top winds are at 45 mph currently.
Tropical Storm Gonzalo satelliteGonzalo is expected to move toward the NNW. It will maintain intensity the next few days before weakening early next week to a remnant low.
Gonzalo trackMeanwhile, Tropical Storm Fay is expected to dissipate over the weekend in the middle of the Central Atlantic.
Fay trackThe hurricane season ends November 30th. Although it's been remarkably quiet, we still need to be vigilant until at least the end of October.
