A 38-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a Sound Transit train in SODO on Thursday afternoon, according to Seattle police.

The woman was hit by the train while trying to cross the tracks at 2 Avenue South and South Spokane Street at around 2:30 p.m., Seattle Police said.

Officers arrived and began life-saving efforts before Seattle Fire Department medics took her to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

The train stopped, and service on the line was disrupted as police and detectives examined the scene; service has since reopened.
