A 43-year-old woman was arrested for murder after investigators say she struck and killed a man with a vehicle near Marysville Tuesday night.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called around 8:32 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, for a report of a person down at a home in the 12800 block of 1st Avenue Northwest in unincorporated Snohomish County.

When deputies arrived, they found a 43-year-old man dead at the scene. The man had an apparent broken leg, a caved-in chest, a head wound, and possibly broken limbs, according to court documents.

Detectives with the sheriff’s office Major Crimes Unit responded and began investigating.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators identified a 43-year-old woman who knew the victim as the suspect.

She is believed to have been dating the deceased man and involved in a domestic violence relationship based on statements she made to police, according to court documents.

Detectives determined the victim had been hit by a vehicle driven by the woman, the sheriff’s office said.

Witnesses reported that the woman drove up to the house, yelling, screaming, and using a bullhorn, court documents said.

Detectives developed probable cause to arrest the woman on suspicion of second-degree murder involving domestic violence. She was taken into custody and booked into the Snohomish County jail.

The sheriff’s office has not released the names of the victim or suspect or provided additional details about what led up to the incident.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the victim’s identity and the official cause and manner of death.
