Seattle Public Utilities crews stopped a sewer overflow late Saturday after a blockage in a sewer main sent an estimated 18,100 gallons of wastewater into Lake Washington.
SPU said crews responded near 8760 Sand Point Way NE on Saturday evening and halted the overflow at 11:22 p.m.
The discharge was estimated at about 18,100 gallons into the lake.
In coordination with Public Health – Seattle & King County, beach closure signs were posted at Matthews Beach Park and along Pontiac Bay.
Notifications were also made to nearby businesses and lakefront property owners.
