Seattle City Hall is going to the cats on Wednesday as the Seattle Animal Shelter hosts its annual “Kitty Hall” adoption event.

The event at the city hall's Bertha Knight Landes Room, at 600 4th Avenue, runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will feature dozens of adoptable cats and kittens looking for homes.

Visitors can meet the animals, learn about adoption, and complete paperwork on site if they find the purrfect match.

The event will also include pet licensing information, outreach booths, and a kitty cam photo booth.

Guests can also vote for this year’s “Kitty Council Purr-sident,” with adult cats campaigning for the title.

“Many of the kittens at this event have not yet known what it feels like to have a permanent home, a person, or a family, and to experience the unconditional love and companionship that grows between people and pets,” said Seattle Animal Shelter Executive Director Ashley Harrington. “We are so excited for these kittens and the people who adopt them because they have so much joy ahead together. We’re excited to be a small part of that with Kitty Hall.”

All of the cats and kittens at the event will be available for adoption, and adopters can take their new pet home once the paperwork is complete, according to the shelter.

The event is part of the Seattle Animal Shelter’s push to connect more pets with families across the city.
