A busy freeway ramp was closed for more than four hours after a brief chase and crash in Federal Way early Thursday.
Shortly before 1 a.m., a Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper saw a black Dodge Charger on northbound Interstate 5 at 54th Avenue East in Fife.
According to the WSP, the driver of the Charger was traveling 93 mph in a 60 mph zone.
A trooper tried to pull the driver over, but the Charger didn't stop and a short chase began into Federal Way.
As the driver tried to take the exit to eastbound State Route 18, the Charger went off the road and crashed into a field.
Both the driver -- a 31-year-old Puyallup man -- and his passenger -- a 27-year-old Federal Way man -- were hurt and taken to the hospital, according to a WSP report.
The driver was taken into custody for investigation of felony eluding, vehicular assault, DUI, reckless endangerment, third-degree driving while license suspended, and an ignition interlock device violation.
