Affected employees are expected to be laid off Oct. 30, although some jobs could end earlier or later depending on business needs.
Some workers may remain beyond that date to help with the shutdown, the company said.
Georgia-Pacific said it will provide all affected employees at least 60 days of pay and benefits in accordance with federal and state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification laws.
The eliminated positions include production associates, loaders, forklift operators, maintenance workers, electricians, supervisors and managers, according to the notice’s list of affected jobs.
Some hourly employees are represented by Teamsters Local 117, affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The company said employees do not have bumping rights.
