It's Washington State law that all children must show proof of immunization or an official exemption before they can attend a public or private school, preschool, or licensed childcare center.
KOMO News spoke with a local pharmacist about the best time to get the annual flu and the updated COVID-19 booster.
He says there are two schools of thought.
"People who are traveling who need the protection, I would say get it now, and typically we recommend a late September, or even early September is OK, said pharmacist Elango Ramaiyan.
Currently, many pharmacies have extended hours for the back-to-school season, including appointments on evenings and weekends.
