Every month, ARC Seattle will be teaming up with Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington to highlight some of the great work being done to fulfill life-changing wishes for local children who are battling critical illnesses.
Right now, more than 550 children in Alaska and Washington are waiting for their wishes to be granted.
KOMO and ARC Seattle viewers stepped up in a BIG way during our recent Wishes in Flight mileage drive. A record number of unused airline miles - more than 15.5 million - were donated, and more than $11,000 in monetary donations were collected as part of the drive.
Several of Seattle's amazing sports franchises have helped fulfill wishes, too.
Jessie Elenbaas, Associate Director of Communications and Marketing for Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington, joined ARC Seattle co-anchor Steve McCarron to talk about the incredible contributions from the Seattle Seahawks, the Seattle Storm, the Seattle Sounders, the Seattle Kraken, and the Seattle Mariners.
