Steve Soliz anchors KOMO News at 3:30 p.m. and ARC Seattle at 10 p.m.
Steve is an award-winning broadcast journalist with two decades of experience in radio and television. He has worked in cities across the country, including Dallas, Albuquerque and Phoenix. Prior to joining KOMO, Steve spent four years in a different Seattle newsroom, where he anchored the news and contributed to a series of stories focused on cold cases.
Steve is dedicated to fostering trust in journalism, mentoring future journalists, and championing diversity in media through his leadership with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
In addition to seeing him on KOMO News, you may also see Steve on Netflix. He appears in two films that stream on the platform - El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie and Army Of The Dead.
Steve is a die-hard fan of the San Antonio Spurs but is ready to cheer for the Sonics once they return. He is also a big fan of the Seahawks, Mariners and Kraken. Steve loves chips and queso paired with a good margarita. He also loves scenic walks or drives in his Jeep.
Steve and his wife are native Texans who live with their two boys in Kirkland.
