Authorities said a suspect or suspects started the Chelan Hills Fire, which burned nearly 10,000 acres.
A reward of up to $30,000 is being offered for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for starting the deadly Chelan Hills Fire.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) are seeking information about the fire, which began on July 4.
With a contribution from the ATF, the reward for information in the investigation is now up to $30,000.
Authorities said a suspect or suspects started the Chelan Hills Fire, which burned nearly 10,000 acres, destroyed several homes and structures, and claimed one life.
The DCSO previously said deputies found a vehicle that had slid off a roadway and was later consumed by the fire while they were following up on a report of a missing resident who lived in the affected area.
Human remains were found inside the vehicle.
Douglas County Sheriff Tyler Caille previously told KOMO News the fire was being investigated as human-caused. He said the blaze destroyed numerous full-time residences, outbuildings, vehicles and other personal property.
Authorities are asking anyone with information that could help identify those responsible for starting the fire to come forward.
The ATF can be contacted at 1-888-ATF-TIPS (1-888-283-8477) or ATFTips@atf.gov.
Tips can also be submitted to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at 509-699-3283 or igraham@co.douglas.wa.us.
