“Nash is the worst guard dog,” another caption reads.
A golden retriever in California is going viral for proving he’s a very good boy — and a very bad guard dog.
Nash, who lives in San Diego with his pawrents, was caught on camera earlier this month treating an alleged intruder more like a surprise playdate than a threat.
Stephanie Calderon and Dante Rowley shared the footage online and said they watched the bizarre break-in unfold through their home security app as they boarded a flight.
“POV: You’re boarding a flight and you get a Ring alert to someone breaking into your house,” a caption reads as a man is seen hopping the fence and using a ladder to climb through a second-story window.
The man then appears to make himself at home — shirtless, barefoot and apparently hungry — eating a few yogurts before falling asleep on a blanket left out for the dogs.
Meanwhile, Nash had a different response: toys, tail wags and what looked a lot like an invitation to play.
The couple said officers arrived about five minutes after they called. Nash appears with a toy in his mouth as the man looks through the front door.
“Nash is the worst guard dog,” another caption reads.
When police arrived, Nash seemed equally thrilled to see the new visitors. The man reportedly jumped from a bathroom window before officers arrested him.
