Just when you thought that the Jimothy train was slowing down, the people proved that the beloved raccoon isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Back on August 5th, the Seattle Mariners did a giveaway: the first 20,000 fans through the turnstiles at T-Mobile Park would get special "Jimothy" trading cards, but there was a twist that modern collectors loved.

There were special inserts, or numbered cards randomly given out. out of /2000, /100 etc.

And, of course, a special gold trimmed 1/1 card.

A 13-year old fan landed the 1/1 card, now it's on eBay here

As of this writing, the card has seen over 95 bids and sits at $16,700 with the auction ending on Sunday.

The trading card industry has skyrocketed since people rediscovered their collections during the COVID-19 pandemic but this summer especially, despite rising costs in life, the market is rising rapidly.

Look no further than a 1/1 card of a raccoon.

If you don't have $16,700 and counting in the couch cushions, but want your piece of Jimothy trading card madness, there are regular unnumbered editions for sale on the site for closer to $40.
