In the age of instant news alerts and social media, it's hard to find something "new" about the Seahawks more than a few hours old.

But "Hard Knocks" cut through all that in its second episode this week, providing some really compelling information for 12s to digest.

So we'll go over some of that and why it was so new Tuesday night.

Are the Seahawks signing Terrion Arnold?

In June, the former first round pick of the Detroit Lions was charged with a major crime

The Lions subsequently released him. Now out on bond, Arnold is pursuing opportunities in the NFL again.

Now, you can read anywhere that he tried out for the Seahawks, the Saints and other teams.

But "Hard Knocks" truly pulled back the curtain on this, showing how John Schneider is at least considering the idea and got a rave review of Arnold from his former college teammate Jalen Milroe.

We even got to see Arnold's workout, at least a brief clip of it that ended with a hug for Mike Macdonald, on Episode 2 — player tryouts are otherwise strictly off-limits.

Mike Macdonald lectures Derick Hall on proximity to the quarterback

If you've been around this team, you already know that in a violent game like football, mistakes happen, but they never linger at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

So when Derick Hall was rushing a little too close to starting quarterback Sam Darnold, Mike Macdonald let out some expletives to pull Hall from that drive and tell him to stop.

To be clear, it was visible to reporters on-site, but that portion of practice is off-limits to all cameras.

And how you saw it end? That's how this team operates — a hug at the end and all is good. Macdonald was even heard on camera saying that what he lectured Hall about is what he loves and makes the newly re-signed linebacker so special.

Hall was especially featured in this episode as the exact blend of incredibly dangerous on the football field but loving as a teammate off it.

And his amazing truck collection — huge pickups that he builds.

I was fortunate to tell this story in his rookie training camp of 2023, but as we learned during Hard Knocks, his collection has only gotten more impressive.

Sam Darnold throws a pretty ball and Leo loves Seattle

So, you can tell that by watching it, right?

But through an incredibly slow-motion clip that was more mesmerizing than it was shocking, the show points out that one of the secrets behind Darnold's resurgence is that he throws a tighter spiral than most.

Like, roughly 10% more revolutions on the football per pass.

That was just a really cool thing.

So, too, was the feature of Leonard Williams and his family.

Leonard and his wife said that Seattle rejuvenated his career both on the field and with simply enjoying being in Seattle more than New York.

Apparently, he's a green thumb, too?

What can't Leonard Williams do?

The sledgehammer hold-off

What else do I need to say?

After a minor scuffle, with a punch thrown, between Rylie Mills and Mason Richman, the Seahawks settled the minor dispute in a fun way.

Who could hold two sledgehammers the longest?

Run game coordinator Justin Outten introduced the game to the entire auditorium filled with Seahawks players cheering.

While the skirmish was mild by what you see in training camp, it was a great way to turn the situation into one that ended with fun — and a hug.
