Police barriers and security perimeters are especially tight near the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
While the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has not confirmed President Xi is staying there during his time in the Nation's Capital, officials released a "special event" advisory around the hotel spanning the entire length of his visit.
Exact arrangements for high-profile delegations are typically not released to the public.

Several areas near the White House are closed to the public, including the Ellipse, Lafayette Park and Sherman Park. There is also a temporary closure on E Street. The restrictions are expected to lift Friday night, when the visit wraps up.
In addition to street closures, parking restrictions are in effect, particularly around Pennsylvania Avenue, 10th Street, 12th Street, and Constitution Avenue.
If you're trying to avoid the closures, Metro is your best bet. The closest stations to the Waldorf Astoria and White House area include Federal Triangle, Metro Center, and the Archives stop.
