His initial arrest stemmed from concerns on social media after Betancur reportedly posted videos online of him touching women's hair inside a Metro train.
The man convicted in D.C. of assault for touching a woman's hair on the Metro was booked in the Arlington, Virginia, jail after being released from the D.C. Department of Corrections earlier this week.
Bryan Betancur was booked on Thursday by Arlington County Sheriff's deputies on charges from earlier this year stemming from accusations of assault on a Silver Line train at the Clarendon Metro Station on March 1.
His initial arrest stemmed from concerns on social media after Betancur reportedly posted videos online of him touching women's hair inside a Metro train.
Just days earlier, the D.C. Department of Corrections released Betancur after inmate records showed he had completed time served. On August 13, a judge sentenced him to 180 days in prison but, with time served since remaining in custody in April, he only needed to serve another 52 days.
The Maryland resident faces a bond hearing Friday morning on charges of assault and battery and failure to appear in court.
Betancur was previously pardoned for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots after first pleading guilty in 2022, according to court records.
