The Trump administration is pressing ahead with efforts to find and combat what it sees as an election system that has been compromised.

This week’s target is Minnesota, and what the Department of Justice characterizes as yet another batch of evidence of voter fraud.

"Charges include illegally voting in the general elections of 2022, 2024 and the midterm primary election of August 2026," said Attorney General Todd Blanche, during a news conference Wednesday.

Blanche announced ten separate indictments of lawful permanent residents from Brazil, Bosnia, South Africa, Canada, Germany, Lithuania, Liberia and Ghana, with charges including making a false claim of citizenship in order to register to vote or to actually vote.

"In Minnesota, if you’re not a citizen, don’t try to vote. We will prosecute you and if you’re convicted, I'll face jail time and any other consequences to your immigration status that the law may provide for," said Daniel Rosen, U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota.

This follows a case in Utah involving a postal worker throwing out hundreds of mail ballots, with at least 1,600 voter fraud-related investigations said to be underway.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said his agency has been assisting in the effort.

“Every voter that votes should know that their vote counts. It shouldn’t be canceled by an illegal or someone illegally voting in those elections," he said.

Wednesday's announcement is part of a much greater effort that includes the Pentagon bringing in intelligence officers and U.S. Cyber Command to counter potential threats and the Justice Department preparing to send a thousand election observers to polling sites around the country on election day.
