A shirtless Florida man allegedly tried to force his way into a woman's car Monday — then took off running when deputies arrived, leaving behind a revolver.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office said Jeremy Graves approached the woman's occupied vehicle and opened her door, demanding that she move over.

But when she yelled back, she noticed Graves was holding a shirt partially covering what appeared to be a gun.

She continued yelling, and Graves eventually walked away.

The woman immediately called for help, and deputies spotted Graves nearby, according to the sheriff's office. That's when investigators say Graves took off on foot, tossing the shirt as he ran.

Deputies quickly caught up with him and later located his discarded shirt with a revolver wrapped inside.

And deputies say there was another problem: He's a convicted felon and cannot legally possess a firearm.

BCSO says they arrested Graves for counts of attempted armed carjacking, armed burglary of an occupied conveyance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and resisting arrest without violence.
