A semi truck full of chickens tipped over Wednesday while taking an I-5 northbound on-ramp in Southwest Washington, and now state troopers, transportation crews and animal control are working to corral the birds that flew the coop.
Washington State Dept. of Transportation crews were called out to handle the “fowl situation” at about 9:40 a.m. when the semi crashed along the freeway on-ramp near La Center Road.
Some of the chickens tried to wing it after the crash, and state transportation officials say “WSP, WSDOT crews & animal control are on scene working to safely collect the chickens.”
The northbound onramp is closed, WSDOT says, and wish drivers good 'cluck' as they find other routes past the crash scene.
