Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly brandished a knife at a boat owner and members of the U.S. Coast Guard after a theft was interrupted on Tuesday afternoon in Seattle.
The incident began around 2 p.m. when the victim interrupted a theft on his boat moored in Fauntleroy Cove, according to police.
Police said the suspect fled in a dinghy and the victim gave chase. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife at the victim.
The U.S. Coast Guard intervened around that time, and the suspect also brandished a knife at Coast Guard personnel, according to police.
The Coast Guard attempted to corral the suspect into Elliott Bay Marina, but police said the suspect was able to beach the dinghy and flee on foot into the woods.
Seattle police officers responded along with a K-9 team to search for the suspect.
