A man who decided to point a gun at another driver on State Route 509 in Burien got an unpleasant surprise.
On August 20, an undercover King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) detective was driving on SR 509 near 160th Street when the driver pulled up next to the detective, drew a gun, and aimed it at the detective's face, the KCSO said.
The detective followed the driver toward Ambaum Boulevard, where deputies were waiting.
They conducted a "high-risk stop" on the car, gave him several commands, and took him into custody.
According to the sheriff's office, three handguns, cocaine, and a meth pipe were found in the suspect's car.
Authorities said the man has convictions for domestic violence, which means it's illegal for him to possess a gun.
"Here's a tip. Never point a gun at anybody. It might just be a police officer," KCSO said in a Facebook post with a video of the arrest.
The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged the man with second-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm
