Firefighters stopped a fast-moving fire from spreading through an apartment complex on Pacific Highway in Federal Way Thursday.
Firefighters stopped a fast-moving fire from spreading through an apartment complex on Pacific Highway in Federal Way Thursday.
Crews arrived at 27904 Pacific Highway South and found one apartment unit burning heavily with fire and smoke.
South King Fire said firefighters quickly attacked the flames and managed to keep the fire from reaching nearby units.
No one was hurt during the fire, and all residents got out safely. South King Fire confirmed that no firefighters were injured at the scene.
Investigators with the King County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigation Unit are working to find out what started the fire. The cause is not known yet.
The American Red Cross said its Disaster Action Teams are helping residents who lost their homes.
Red Cross teams are focusing on shelter, food, and clothing for those in need.
The fire resulted in 25 people being displaced.
The Red Cross said, “Our volunteers will work directly with the impacted residents to evaluate immediate needs, including shelter, food and clothing.”
