A pole fire along East Marginal Way knocked out power in South Seattle on Saturday morning, leaving thousands without electricity and causing delays for Sound Transit light rail riders.
Seattle City Light crews responded to the outage, which was first reported around 10:50 a.m. Saturday.
The utility said the outage was affecting about 9,300 customers. By nearly 1 p.m. City Light reported that power had been restored to everyone who had been affected.
City Light technicians worked to determine the safest way to restore service and planned to continue until all customers were reconnected.
Drivers in the affected areas should treat dark signals as an all-way stop, the Seattle Department of Transportation said.
The outage also affected Sound Transit’s light rail system. Sound Transit reported that 1 Line and 2 Line trains were experiencing delays until further notice because of the power outage and advised riders to plan ahead for additional travel time.
