A wedding setup in Jefferson County took an unexpected turn earlier in August when a DJ discovered some of his equipment had been stolen - along with beer, soda and Capri Suns for the guests.

A few off-duty Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and a Port Townsend Police Department sergeant were already at the wedding, which was held on Aug. 15, and they quickly began looking into the theft.

After an investigation and a review of surveillance video, deputies identified a suspect.

One of the deputies located and arrested a 55-year-old Quilcene man, who was booked into the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office jail for second-degree theft, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities said the stolen equipment and beverages were recovered, the DJ was able to resume work, and the wedding went on as planned.
