Marysville Police Department said officers stopped 39 drivers and issued 32 infractions, 7 warnings, and arrested 2 people for driving with a suspended license on a recent rail safety detail.
Police targeted violations like stopping on tracks, ignoring crossing signals, and other actions that raise the risk for injury or deadly outcomes.
Police reported four serious train-related events in Marysville in September, including two deaths.
Each case involved different issues, such as substance use concerns, behavioral health crises or risky choices by drivers and pedestrians.
Officers said these incidents go beyond those immediately affected and impact families, witnesses, train crews and first responders.
The department urges everyone to keep off railroad tracks, follow all signs, and never try to outrun a train.
Operation Clear Track was part of a national campaign with Operation Lifesaver and local rail partners. Marysville officers regularly join these efforts to encourage safe driving and help prevent tragedies near rail lines.
Marysville Police Department said it is committed to proactive enforcement and education to keep the community safe.
