A new wildfire burning in Mount Rainier National Park has grown to an estimated 200 acres and remains uncontrolled, according to East Pierce County Fire.
A new wildfire burning in Mount Rainier National Park has grown to an estimated 312 acres and remains uncontained, according to state fire officials.
The Nisqually and Stevens Canyon entrances to the park remain open; visitors are asked to avoid the affected areas, park officials said.
The Grand Park 2 Fire began burning Friday about 1.3 miles southwest of Lake Eleanor on the northeast side of Mount Rainier in Pierce County.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, fire officials said.
Due to the wildfire, the National Park Service has closed access to the Sunrise and White River areas from State Route 410 (SR-410).
The areas will remain closed until officials determine it is safe to reopen them.
A Type 3 Incident Management Team and additional aviation resources to support the response are being deployed to the area and will be hosted within the city limits of Enumclaw, the city said Friday.
