No arrests have been made in any of the shootings.
Families of the victims killed and injured in three separate shootings in Belltown over the weekend are demanding answers, as Seattle police continue to investigate.
No arrests have been made in any of the shootings.
The violence began early Sunday morning near Clay and Denny streets, where 21-year-old Matthew Lanske was shot three times while out with friends. His family says the group had come across a street takeover when a robbery attempt turned violent.
"My brother had seen that, so he ran over to try to assist and get control of the gun, not only for his friend, but for the whole community, and ended up getting hurt," said Rebecca Garberding, Lanske's sister.
Lanske survived, but his friend was killed in the shooting.
"He has, I feel like, survivor's guilt, you know," said Brooklynne Lanske, another of his sisters. "He wanted to save his friend so bad, and he woke up to so many changes."
As Lanske recovers in the hospital, the family of 17-year-old Kaleb Osborne is preparing to bury their son. Osborne was killed nearly 12 hours after the Clay and Denny shooting, in a separate incident near Pier 66 Sunday night.
"My baby is gone. My whole world has just been flipped upside down," said Amanda Osborne, Kaleb's mother.
Osborne's family says he was in Seattle attending a car meetup when a dispute broke out between two groups, and he was caught in the crossfire.
"My son died alone in the street," Amanda Osborne said. "I didn't get any information. The cops never called me."
According to the King County Medical Examiner's Office, Osborne died from gunshot wounds to his head and his neck.
Osborne's mother says she waited nearly two days for official confirmation from the medical examiner that her son had been killed, and she is still searching for answers about what happened that night.
"I just want justice. My son deserves it," she said. "He was an amazing kid."
Seattle police are investigating both shootings, along with a third fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the same neighborhood. Investigators say no arrests have been made in any of the three cases.
SPD is asking anyone with photos, video, or other information that could help identify a suspect to come forward. Photos and video related to the Clay Street shooting can be submitted to police here.
