The City of Everett has been studying whether merging Everett Transit with Community Transit would be a good fit for riders.
The idea is to have a system that better fits future needs and the eventual arrival of light rail to Everett.
Right now, it’s just a study, but people who use the system are about to get their say on the idea.
An image of a Community Transit bus. (Community Transit)Supporters of folding Everett Transit into Community Transit say it would offer riders more connections, making it easier to get to other parts of Snohomish County.
They also say it would mean more frequent service and fewer transfers.
We are also told riders would have more connections to light rail in Lynnwood and the eventual extension to Everett.
There will be many upcoming opportunities to tell transit leaders what you think of the idea both in person and online.
According to current studies, it wouldn’t be until March 2028 that integrating the systems could start.
So there is still time for Everett Transit riders to say they want to keep the system they have or become part of something bigger.
