A logging truck crash on State Route 530 has shut down traffic in both directions between Arlington and Oso, and officials say at least one person is dead.
The Washington State Department of Transportation said the collision happened before 7:40 a.m. on SR 530 eastbound and westbound just south of 294th Street Northeast near milepost 28, blocking all lanes.
WSDOT said eastbound SR 530/Arlington-Darrington Road traffic is being turned around at 294th Street NE, and both directions remain fully blocked with no estimated time for reopening.
Washington State Patrol was on scene investigating, and troopers said just after 9:30 a.m. that the situation was now a fatal crash, but did not provide any more details.
WSDOT said there is no detour and the closure is expected to be extended, urging drivers to seek alternate routes.
