Washington state officials have canceled an AMBER Alert for a 1-year-old child with significant medical needs who investigators believe may have been taken to

Washington state officials have canceled an AMBER Alert issued earlier in the afternoon for a 1-year-old child with significant medical needs who was believed to be abducted by his mother.

The Washington State Patrol said the alert was activated on behalf of the Wenatchee Police Department. It was first sent out just before 1:30 p.m.

Police said the child was supposed to be getting medical services in Wenatchee but was not brought to his appointment. His mother had become unreachable and is "not cooperating," raising concerns about the medical needs of the child.

Investigators said she was initially believed to have traveled to the Portland area.

At 2:12 p.m. the alert was canceled, with the note that the child had been found. No other information was provided, including whether the mother would be facing criminal charges.

KOMO News has removed the identities of the child and his mother to protect their privacy, pending more information from investigators.
