Sources told TMZ that replacement guards were placed at Parton’s Nashville home, museum, downtown residence and warehouse.
Dolly Parton’s nephew, who publicly announced her death, has reportedly been fired as head of security for the country legend, according to a termination notice obtained by TMZ.
The notice informed Bryan Seaver that he and his security companies had been immediately dismissed from all Dolly properties, TMZ reported.
Sources told the outlet that replacement guards were placed at Parton’s Nashville home, museum, downtown residence and warehouse.
Seaver, the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, said he was “dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions.” He said the order was issued through Parton’s former manager, Danny Nozell, and Pinnacle Bank.
Still, Seaver said he remained committed to carrying out what he called Parton’s final wishes: “We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much.”
TMZ reported that the notice said Seaver’s personal interest in the family trust was not affected.
Seaver said he remained comforted by the outpouring of love for his aunt following her death. The “9 to 5” singer died after a brief battle with cancer.
In the video announcing Parton’s death, Seaver said she had asked him years earlier to make the announcement. He said he had served as her head of security for more than two decades, following his father, Larry, in the role.
