Claire Weber joined the KOMO News team as a general assignment reporter in September 2025 and is excited to explore her new home in the Pacific Northwest!
Before coming to Seattle, Claire worked as a reporter and anchor at ABC News 4 in Charleston, S.C. for two years. There she covered the paths and destruction of Tropical Storms Idalia and Debby during hurricane season along the Carolina Coast, campaign rallies for former Gov. Nikki Haley and President Donald Trump leading up to the 2024 election, and the financial crime fallout surrounding convicted killer and disgraced lawyer, Alex Murdaugh.
Claire is a California native – born and raised in the Bay Area before graduating from Chapman University in Orange County, CA. There she studied both political science and broadcast journalism and developed a passion for storytelling while working on Chapman’s student newscast and interning for both NBC News and the TODAY Show.
Outside of work Claire loves going on long walks, watching her home sports teams and spending time with family and friends!
