The West Coast Health Alliance has issued immunization recommendations for the 2026-2027 respiratory virus season.

With the 2026-2027 respiratory virus season approaching, the West Coast Health Alliance has issued immunization recommendations.

The alliance said immunizations can protect against COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus, also known as RSV.

On Sept. 11, Washington State Department of Health Secretary Dennis Worsham spoke to ARC Seattle about the immunization recommendations.

The West Coast Health Alliance said its immunization recommendations are informed by national medical organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

The alliance said immunization is “the best protection available” against respiratory viruses. It called seasonal immunization a critical public health tool to reduce serious illness, community transmission, and strain on health care systems.

The alliance said it will continue evaluating new evidence and recommendations as they become available. It will share updated assessments.

More information about the immunization recommendations can be found here.
