Make-A-Wish volunteers play a critical role in making dreams happen
Every month, ARC Seattle teams up with Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington to highlight some of the great work being done to fulfill life-changing wishes for local children who are battling critical illnesses.
Right now, more than 550 children in Alaska and Washington are waiting for their wishes to be granted.
Make-A-Wish volunteers like Wylie Bird play a critical role in ensuring every child gets the chance to have their wish granted.
Bird, a wish granting volunteer who serves on the organization's Young Professionals Council, joined ARC Seattle co-anchors Steve McCarron and Holly Menino to talk about the inspiration for her volunteer work, what it entails, and the emotional impact of helping make dreams come true for kids battling critical illnesses.
