As national and world events dominate daily headlines, a kid-friendly news podcast is gaining traction as a tool for families and educators.
KidNuz looks to help children understand what’s happening beyond their own communities.
It's a daily, seven-minute news podcast that airs Monday through Friday, designed for 8- to 13-year-olds.
The podcast covers current events, science, sports, and politics.
It is positioned as an age-appropriate, nonpartisan way to introduce young listeners to the news.
The organization says more than 250,000 kids, parents and teachers visit KidNuz each day.
Teachers are playing it in classrooms to teach current events, including the upcoming 2026 election.
Parents can also use it as a starting point for conversations about difficult news topics with their children.
Tori Campbell, an award-winning journalist and a founder and board member of KidNuz, said the podcast aims to engage kids in current events, encourage critical thinking, and spark meaningful conversations.
