Singer-songwriter Joel Van Horne, known as Covenhoven, joined ARC Seattle at KOMO Plaza ahead of his Aug. 28 performance at Seattle’s Fremont Abbey Arts Center.

The Colorado-based indie-folk artist talked about the landscapes, family memories and experiences that shape his songwriting including the Pacific Northwest and the story behind the name Covenhoven, taken from his family’s cabin in Wyoming.

He shared the places and experiences behind his music, his connection to the Pacific Northwest and his latest album, The Color of the Dark.

His music blends intimate indie-folk songwriting with themes of landscape, memory, family, loss and home.
