Fifty Seattle residents will get a free, all-day curated experience in Ballard as part of "Best Day Ever."
It's a community-powered event designed to connect Seattle residents with local neighborhoods
The upcoming event is scheduled for Sept. 12 at the National Nordic Museum in Seattle. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Attendance is limited to 50 people. Every attendee must be registered, be 12 years or older, and be able to attend for the full day.
Organizers are asking people to update their RSVP if they are no longer able to attend so others can take the spot. The event has a waitlist.
Best Day Ever is co-created by the Department of Neighborhoods and the Seattle Chamber of Connection. Organizers say the initiative is meant to bring “people, place, and purpose together.”
The events also look to uplift community leadership, honor neighborhood histories, creativity, and cultural assets.
The events include volunteer service projects, movement activities such as neighborhood walks, dance or fitness experiences, learning through storytelling, cultural education, shared meals hosted by local small businesses, facilitated reflection and relationship-building.
